Richard Oliver

My main research focus is in quantum optics: the study of light in situations where its properties, such as the electric field, must be described by operators instead of regular numbers. I study the manipulation of photons in the frequency domain via Bragg scattering - a nonlinear four-wave mixing process that can convert light from one wavelength to another.
